Hey everyone, I’m thinking about installing a electric pergola in my backyard. The idea of controlling the light and shade sounds great, but I’m not sure whether to go for the manual or electric version. I’ve seen both options around, and I’m torn. Is one really better than the other? I’d love to hear about your experiences with either, especially in terms of convenience and reliability.

Hi, great question! I had the same dilemma not long ago when I was looking into electric pergola for my own patio. After doing a bit of research, I ended up going for the electric version, and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s incredibly convenient—especially when you’re relaxing outside and don’t want to get up to adjust the louvers manually. The electric system also lets you fine-tune the angle of the louvers to get the perfect amount of sunlight or shade. It’s super reliable, and once it’s installed, it’s practically set and forget.
